The Shane Co. website done as a contract assignment for Zipatoni. I was given the photography and fonts from the client to create the look and feel. I created the Side Navigation piece in Javascript that was easily edited through a text file that fed the navigation.

The House Beautiful Home Collection website was a web presentation of the printed brochure. The website featured all of the products within the Collection and the user could change the color of the "skin" of the website. There was also a Flash animation in the "Create Your Look" section that allowed the visitor to make up a bed with the bedding colors from the Collection. This animation is found in the Flash Animation section of this Gallery.
Additionally, there was another Flash animation sub-navigation piece for the "How To" section. The text within the navigation transitioned simply but, was fed the text through Actionscript from a text file.
Rick Jones' painting company wanted something different from all the other painting contracting websites out there. I first consulted with Rick about offering a Gallery on his website to show people examples of his work. This was something that I had noticed lacking on other painting contractor websites. Plus, Rick wanted the site to be visually interesting. I took photos of his paint sample books as a background of the navigation element.
This website was only supposed to be a maintenance role. It developed into a full website redesign. The elements of the site were converted from the previous site's black and blue palette to a much cleaner palette based upon the colors in Replication's logo.
The above three images are the initial prototype designs of firstbanks.com. When I was working at First Services, the IT division of First Bank, my primary position was doing new development and maintenance on the existing Marketing site. In my free time, I started to work on some concepts for a redesign of the current site. I printed these out and hung them up in my cubicle. It just so happened that one day the CEO of First Bank walked by my desk and saw them. He liked them and began the process to get the Marketing site redesigned.
In this 5.5Mb .pdf document are the 26 prototype designs that were requested from the Marketing department and the final chosen design. The Marketing department was not sure of a design concept so, multiple navigation schemes and color themes were generated.
The previous site was over seven years old. The Search function did not work and the Navigation construct was not user friendly. With over 500 pages of content, a user could easily get lost. Emphasis on usability was a major concern. I created a color scheme that allowed the user to know a clickthru path without the use of a breadcrumb trail at the top of each page. Also, I implemented the use of Index Server to make a Google-like search utility. Other features of the site are dynamic cross sell content, photographic header content and site map.
I also set up and managed a content management system using Macromedia's Contribute to allow the multiple departments to edit/review/publish the content of the site.
